Dee, we need a sanctuary. It would be nice to just feel safe sometimes.

You know, I have a cold at the moment, too!

It must be the super-flu out of Stephen King's "The Stand"

Oh boy, we're all f*#ed!

Mae, love the concept of sanctuary. That is the direction that a place like this can take, somewhere no other online forum can fill because never mind Jebus  we are all mates. People don't have to winge just to say G'day for today or this week whatever . The old/young days of a Mars bar or Tim Tam on the couch remember :?: are long gone as are the times that posts of that vein were common good or bad though Karmyst still gives those bloody huggles  If everyone that quickly passes through just to make sure we are still here said the G'day I am alive and kicking sh*t mantra it would reassure old paranoids like me.........

Cop this for Murphys' law. Last Friday was bouncing felt great and told people so. On the way home with a smile a truck going the other way kicked up a bloody great rock and it will cost with no recompense from insurance $320.00 for a new windscreen which as pensioners is no small sum let me tell you. My insurance is no freebies and I have to pay the first $300 so better not to claim.

Had a dream (nightmare?) last night that I was a father, unfortunately I didn't get a good look at the mother so don't know who to steer clear of :-( Might just have to stay celibate - better to be safe than sorry!

You all might enjoy this-got it off Pat Rothfuss's blog. It is cage fighting of sci fi/fantasy characters up against one another! For example: Anita Blake vs. Polgara the Sorceress, Ender Wiggin vs. Raistlin Majere, Locke Lemora vs. Rand Al'Thor. Hilarious descriptions of characters.

I like *huggles*. Should be more of them.

I like the kick-arse medication I'm taking.

This humid heat is doing my head in. Never good with sinus ailments.

I don't like that one of my students has a dying parent, her only parent. He came to tell me his prognosis, all I wanted to do was hug him but I didn't, I couldn't; he's so frail. She doesn't know. I feel ill thinking about it, life can be so cruel.

*huggles* to you all especially Mae and Dee, hope you feel better soon. An extra big *HUGGLES* just for John.

Ah, this place really is a treasure :D

We have millipedes up the wazoo at the moment. They are crawling out of every tree and shrub and taking residence around my house. They're in my bloody skylight! However, given a friend of mine just lost her entire house to the Big Storm (tm) I'm not going to sook too much; at least these will go away.

Still waiting on my redundancy! Making big plans for the backyard :D

And for those that are following the cage match, results are in for division 1 and 2-round 1. Arthur Dent loses by 1% Happy watching-its quite funny too.

10am this morning should see me retrenched - here's hoping it happens today, I am dreadfully sick of waiting to hear my fate...

Then I can start applying for real jobs! And have my grape arbor built in the backyard :D

How'd it go Dee?
Hope a good job comes through for you.

For the life of me, today I couldn't remember whether the word was spelt 'repetoire' or 'repertoire'. It is the latter.

I was writing it in a student's notebook. He is primary schooler ... I don't think I would have made a particularly good impression on his parents if they noticed it, but I ended up spelling it correctly.

First boxing class after 2 weeks last night and I almost died - an hour into it I started clock watching, doing it all over again tonight. Really gotta quit this smoking malarkey. Didn't even think of alcohol on St Patrick's Day! :-(

Jebusfest 32 is planned, will be smaller this year but that's OK, it's just a precursor for Jebivor 33 where for the Easter weekend of 2011 I'll be Jeff Probst and my friends will be my guinea pigs, mwahahahahahahaaaa!

If you're a Hoyts member you get to go to the flicks on your birthday to any session in any cinema for free! Cool, only I'm already seeing a free film at the Nova at 6:30 that night so will need to plan this out a little... I could even go to a Director's Suite flick for free.

Damn ... Austudy application rejected cos of my previous studies at Bachelor level (which I didn't claim any Centrelink payments for). And if Centrelink hadn't exceeded their service standard in processing my application, I could have applied for uni scholarships on the basis of financial need which are now closed. Now I'm going to have to work myself to death ...

I'm thinking of canceling Jebusfest and just going out for dinner on one night rather than have an entire 4 day weekend of festivities, I know it'd disappoint quite a lot of people but I've just not been that enthusiastic about it this year. Decisions decisions.

No, first sign of old age is forgetting things.... I spent half an hour this morning looking for my keys, went down this street and was merrily greeted by a 'Hello Elizabeth' from a woman I vaguely recognized, think she's in my gym glass. Sat down at the computer, now where are my glasses? Maybe it's counting backwards, although I have no problem with that, Fang.

I heard a pastor say once that he never got sick if he prayed. But there was one time when he felt something coming on, but he was busy and didn't pray in time, so he came down with a nasty flu. It really wasn't the most theologically sound message I've ever heard ... God bless him though.

I think I will get a flu shot. I can't afford to get sick! Thanks for the reminder Pew.

We get ours through work and I won't go without it. The one year I missed since moving to Brisbane (I think I was travelling or something), I got the flu so bad I was off for 3 weeks and couldn't breathe for 2 of those. It took me three months to recover from it.

We won our touch quarter-final last night and I have never been so pissed off about winning in my life!! The boys on our mixed team (with 2 exceptions) play the penis game - if you don't have a penis, you can't have the ball. Last night, they played with themselves the whole frakking game, while we girls were pushed to the wing or run around like obstacles. Our winning try was off a dummy half too (which makes it illegitimate) and the guy who scored it knew it and didn't say anything. So not only did we win with crappy team play, we won by cheating. I am ashamed. Angry and ashamed.

I don't think I've ever had a flu shot. A couple times a yea I extra snotty and cough up a lung but some codral for a week or two and I'm right as rain. Who needs flu shots?

Am totally loving boxing. My arms are sore and my shoulders ache and it's bizarrely awesome. Last night the head honcho of the academy taught the class and he reckons he is gonna do it every Tuesday night to concentrate on skills which I really benefited from, so Tuesday and Wednesday nights it is from now on. 9 guys and 5 girls in last night's class, haven't seen that many chicks in a class before and every single one could have knocked me out in seconds. There's something kinda hot about that.

Jebusfest is ON!

I'm off snowboarding in July. Anything worth doing on a July weekend in Melbourne?

Last year, I noticed Safeway very briefly put up the price of their coke from 83c to 91c. Then it went down to 83c. Now I see advertisements everywhere boasting that prices are lower than they were last year. If they think they're fooling anybody ...

Why, why, why? The week that I am super busy with a touch semi-final and travelling to Cairns and the week before a nice long weekend and what happens? I get sick. Sore throat, head ache, runny nose, head spinny, sick.

Blah!
